Hkun Li

Hkun Li is a documentary photographer from Laiza. He is a Sakse alumni, as well as an alumni of the Foundry Photojournalism Workshop and the Angkor Photo Workshop. He has had solo exhibitions at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand , The London School of Economics and several others.
Hkun Li received first place professional at the Yangon Photo Festival in 2020 for his project titled “Beauty Queen”. He was a finalist at the Rory Peck Awards in 2021. In 2014, he had won third place at the Yangon Festival for Behind The Frontline, an exhibition focusing on the youth perspective of refugee issues in the Kachin State.  He was awarded a full scholarship for a workshop at the Arles Photography Festival.
He has since been journeying ever deeper into the remote reaches of Northern Myanmar, spending extended periods of time at IDP camps in the rugged mountains.
