A peace vigil was held in downtown Laiza, candle lights illuminating the darkness of the night. Roman catholic faith was introduced into Kachin communities through French Missionaries, who thought to uplift the status of religion, education and social life within Kachin society. Currently, about 15% of all Kachin are said to be Roman Catholic.
