This school is located in Hpum Lum Yang Refugee camp. It is one of the main education centers for refugees in Kachin. The school is run by the Kachin Independence Organization (KIO) and the IDPs and Refugee Relief Committee (IRRC), the teachers are from the KIO teacher training college or urban kachin youth volunteers. This school gives a KIO high school diploma which cannot be used at Burmese Universities. However, the students can join some Thai or Chinese Universities, as they recognize the KIO diploma, or the Mai Ja Yang Insitute of Education for a 4 years degree.
