Kachin Internally Displaced People join a Baptism ceremony in the Je Yang river. The Kachin are predominantly Christian ( 80% ). The KBC ( Kachin Baptist Convention) has a strong say on most facets of life. On the other side of the river bank is the border with China.
This camp is just outside Laiza, the capital & HQ of the Kachin Independence Organization.
