The construction site of the future dam built by China on its border with Burma, in Kachin State. Chinese-financed, the Myitsone dam is to be built at the source of the Irrawaddy river. The construction led to numerous displacement and as the Irrawady river is sacred for Kachin people, the dam was met with a strong opposition among the Kachin people.
