Father Joseph of the Roman Catholic church in Laiza is a strong supporter of the “liberation theology”. Even though he is now retired, he used to be found holding multiple sermons throughout the week in many IDP camps. He reflects, “There are already so many gross human rights abuses happening here, I can’t imagine what it would be like if we had no weapons to defend ourselves.”
