Children at Pa Kahtawng IDPs camp play football at the stream on the China border line. Pa Kahtawng is on the border line with China. It’s located near Mai Ja Yang which known as second town of Kachin Independence Organization (KIO). The other side of the steam is China. We can see there are many sugarcane fields.
Before COVID-19, IDPs could easily cross the border to work in sugarcane as daily worker. However the Chinese government fenced barbed wire fences along the border during COVID-19. There are less workplace to work because of COVID-19 and so IDPs are also facing with many difficulties now.
